Worldwide news broadcaster now has taken a step to integrate the contemporary technology into the media system. BBC just released an app named Taster VR with the aim to transform the news delivering channel with the help of Virtual Reality. The media giant just introduced its new app for delivering the content to the viewers virtually. Till now we have experienced the VR in movies, videos, and gaming but BBC wants to take it further. In order to test the new idea broadcast company have launched the Taster with the assistance of technology of EEVO to provide the  content in VR format.

Currently, Taster comprises a couple of projects to give the users a thrilling experience. One of the content is the 360 video from the famous documentary Planet Earth II. In the documentary, you will be guided to the six amazing destinations of the planet Earth. You can also choose your path by yourself in the journey. With this VR content of experiencing the different location of the Earth, BBC has a bundle of projects yet to be launched to amaze the viewers . In future, it will offer animated VR, branching narratives, and dynamic binaural audio. It will totally evolve the way a traditional TV delivers the media and other content to the viewers.  

The other content on the Taster VR is the Trailer of upcoming documentary “ One Deadly Weekend in The America” of BBC which illustrates the gun crime in America. This trailer is tailored by the BBC three in collaboration with VR studio and Parable VR.

You will get nerve chilling experience while going through the trailer. BBC three controller Damian Kavanagh has taken the role of editorial lead for BBC Taster onwards.

The app is available for both Android and iOS, and also available for the users outside U.K. After the downloading of the app you need to download the documentary in order to enjoy the show. However, downloading will take some time of yours but afterward, you watch the whole documentary. The documentary can be seen with the help of Google cardboard or any other VR compatible devices. Walking around to earth's most adventurous places is quite groggy, even the video, in the beginning, warned about some nausea, dizziness and trembling. However, the video content is engaging enough to make you forget about anything else.

BBC is working on bigger projects in order to update the content with much richer experience. In the coming weeks or months, you will find tremendous things in Taster.
