This new feature will give the notification of other apps within the app you are using.

What is Cross-App Notification?

According to the reports and latest mobile app technology news Instagram and Facebook testing a feature show you other app notification via a counter. This feature also let the user switch to the other app seamlessly, though it's still in a testing mode.

Consider you miss a notification or by mistake dismiss an alert still you see a red jewel in the corner of the app reminding you. Sometimes it happens you miss the push notification or you don't get notification of activity, the counter in the corner always present with the red color number showing the count of notifications pending.

This advancement could boost up the engagement as it also allows the user to switch to another app through the counter.

How does It work?

Facebook is aware how much time people spend on it that's why it experimenting to give them something useful. While browsing within the app this feature adds a small icon at the corner showing the number which is the sum of all notification. When the user taps the red colored numbered icon a counter opens showing notifications of the other apps. Once you clicked on a particular app in the counter you can switch to the other app instantly without any issue. This feature work for the Instagram, facebook app and Facebook messenger.

This step of coming together with a feature that allows a user to interact with different apps quickly and easily is quite innovative.
