Zomato is get attacked by the hackers and they stole almost 17 billion users information which includes their username and passwords. However, the company claimed that the payment information of the user was kept differently and remain untouched. This is not the first time Zomato became the victim of the security breach in last two years.

Zomato has 120 million users currently and hackers were successful to stole 17 million username and passwords from the platform. According to the company, the stolen data is very difficult to access by the hackers as it was secured with many layers through these data eventually got cracked. Changing the password now is the smart move from every perspective, if you are using the same password for other platforms too you should consider changing it immediately and start using a password manager. In a blog post, Zomato also mentioned it all the payment information including debit card, credit card information is safe. All these information are kept separately from the stolen data and its unaffected by the incident. Zomato also said payment information of the users is stored in a highly secured PCI Data Security Standards.

Zomato assures the users by saying all the affected accounts have been secured now and payment information was saved separately and remain unaffected. The company also said for next couple they will be proactively working to make their security system to make it unbreakable. Recent reports and research show that many of the big apps with millions of users are vulnerable to the cyber attacks. Companies holding the important information of the users should enhance their security system at times and make sure no one can breach it. Last time Zomato was attacked by a white hack hacker who addresses their weakness in 2015.
