The defense minister of LANGKAWI,  Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has launched Rakam 2.0 program. K3M is a mobile application for the maritime community to report emergencies instantly. K3M is built in order to enhance the security aspects at sea by shortening the response time by authorities in case of an emergency. It enables the defense authorities such as  Navy and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) to respond as quickly as possible. K3M stands for (kesedaran), safety (keselamatan) and community (community. Rakam 2.0 program is rolled out in order to connect the center operational head to the maritime community.It also includes fisherman, resort operators to get an instant report of any incidents. Rakam program was earlier launched to improve the security prospects on the sea among the maritime community. However but it was conducted through face-face communication,  initiation of shifting the program on a virtual platform is a smart way to ensure safety.
