Snapchat due to its CEO Evan Spiegel controversial statement faces an immense drop in Google Play store ratings. According to the latest mobile app technology news this statement of snapchat CEO is gone viral over social media, its costs a huge loss to the company. Due to the #BoycottSnapchat campaign by angry Indian smartphone user rating of current version drops to 1star. Marking India as a “poor country” hurts the sentiments of the Indian users and they started deleting the app instantly.

Reaction of the users

When this view or opinion of snapchat CEO got trending over the social media and catches the eye of Indian users it became more than a statement. According to the former employee of the snapchat in 2015 when snapchat was trying to make or increase its market overseas it faces a significant loss. Evan stated the employees that “ This app is for rich people not for poor countries like India and Spain”.  Indian users did not take This offensive statement lightly and show their rage over the social media by boycotting the snapchat. Most of the users are also posting some angry words for the snapchat owner stating the nation's credibility and making him aware of the facts showing how poor Indians are (sarcastically).

What's actually happened you need to know?

Right after when this got so much hype and snapchat started to face too much hatred from the Asian users it denies from these statements. Before going so much mad over the company or app one has to dig deep actually what happens social media isn't much trustable as we think. An ex-employee of Snapchat named Anthony Pompliano filed the company for hesitant practices carried out under Evan Spiegel’s  tutelage. In the statement recorded for the petition Anthony statement during a meeting, Evan mentioned India and Spain as a poor country and don't want to expand his business in India. This statement made by CEO of snapchat is not authentically proven mad by him it's just given by former employee and got spread via social media. As snapchat Inc regularly denied the statement and it's not been proven in the court so it's not an authenticated statement.

Theories taking places

Evan spiegel is continuously denying the alleged made by his ex-employee. But as the things gone viral around the globe and reach maximum minds generates views, opinions, and theories. So, what's the reason behind this, did Evan even said this these question leads to many theories going out right now. Some of the market specialists are saying that it could be competitors tactics to slow down the app growth in Asian countries. Competitors are using some sources and molding the things against Snapchat with the help of social media. Other theory states that it could be a business strategy from the Snapchat from itself, as it is not as much as popular like facebook and WhatsApp in India. India undoubtedly is a very high potential market for social media apps but snapchat is still looking to achieve great numbers here. In order to make it more eminent among the Indian user, they took this reverse step by offending but this theory does not hold much-influencing reason.

What's next?

As most of the companies are well aware of the importance of the Indian market for global success. Snapchat continuously denying the statement and trying to clean up the mess by from their side. One statement via social media changes the whole stats of Snapchat overnight, this shows how powerful social media and applications are. The final words are we should hold our horses before taking any steps and gather the actual information before reacting. It is still to prove whether the statement is made by Evan spiegel or not, so we need to wait before making any accusations
